Enter The Grid And The World Transforms Around You
A Dude with a 'tude
You play as The Dude, a capable character with no special powers of his own. Throughout each level you'll find powerup blocks, and hidden inside are the tools you need to reach the goal. The Dude can find mutations, which are special powerups that transform him into various characters, each of whom has a unique ability that can help you overcome obstacles or defeat enemies. Make your way to the flag at the end of each level and the grid will reset. Pretty simple!

The Dude is powerless on his own; he needs to find mutations to help him navigate obstacles and enemies. Inside of certain P blocks you'll find heads that allow Dude to mutate into a form with special powers, outlined below.

Reveal
Eyeborg can scan to reveal hidden or fake objects. Illusions will disappear for a few seconds before reappearing.

Slash
The Paladin can cut down enemies with a powerful slash. His attack cuts in a horizontal path and can be performed while jumping.

Crash
Berzerk can smash through some walls while running full speed; he also becomes temporarily invulnerable. While standing still he can nudge some enemies back.

High Jump
Slick is a frog who can jump extra high, as well as fit into tight spaces. His movement is restricted to hopping, but if he licks some enemies they will freeze in their tracks- yuck!

Fireball
Spitfire's power is that he can launch a fireball toward enemies in a straight line. He is a quadriped, so his movement feels a little sluggish.

Shield
Anubis has the power to summon a shield around himself, rendering him invulnerable to damage. While shielded, he becomes a statue and thus completely immobile.

Climb Walls
Wall Crawler can climb solid surfaces, but he is currently unavailable in the demo version of DM.

Flight
Jetpack can transform into a flying mode, but he is currently unavailable in the demo version of DM.

Reverse Gravity
Gravi-T has the power to reverse gravity, but he is currently unavailable in the demo version of DM.

Having powers comes in handy when fighting enemies, but luckily most foes are vulnerable to a standard jump attack. Below are some of the enemies you will encounter, along with their weaknesses.

Tarantula
A simple foe who crawls back and forth mindlessly. Easy to jump on, or avoid entirely.
Model Credit
Skeleton
This enemy can't walk, but stand close enough and he'll take a swing at you. Skeletons are as tall as you are so they can be difficult to jump on, but in most cases if you're quick you can catch them while they're still lying on the ground or just standing up.
Model Credit
Virus
An infectious projectile; the virus will spawn a copy of itself, that launches in a straight line toward your position. Jump to avoid or kill it!
Model Credit
Red Dragon
Territorial creatures who are usually found sleeping in high places. When approached, they will roar and take flight a few feet in the air, then spit fireballs at you until you either leave or dispatch them with a jump.
Model Credit
Rhinosaurus
Normally a docile beast, it will charge when threatened. Rhinosaurus are tougher than most creatures; they will take a couple of hits before they go down.
Model Credit
Scorpion
Easy to kill, but watch out! If you step on one you'll take damage. They aren't aggressive, so try to stay out of their way and you'll be fine.
Model Credit
Crabula
This slow-moving, armored beast shells up when approached. Stand nearby and it will defend itself against you, but leave it alone and it will go about its business. If you can flip it over its belly is vulnerable to attack.
Model Credit
Wyvern
A flying foe who will approach your position, then go away. As long as you keep moving you should be able to jump on them or simply stay out of their way.
Model Credit
Green Ooze
Is that puddle of ooze... growing? Once it gets large enough it becomes dangerous and goes on the move. Luckily they stop on their own, but they never truly die because where there's ooze it will eventually grow back again.
Model Credit
Zombie
Kind of like a skeleton that walks, only worse. You can knock them down with a jump, but they'll just get back up again. You'll either need to cut off their heads or set them ablaze to finish them off!
Model Credit
Goblin
These goblins are equipped with bow & arrow. They live in the jungle, where they're known to hunt frogs or whomever. Luckily they stay put and you can jump right over or on top of them.
Model Credit
Drone Copter
A mindless drone, who flies to and fro in a parabolic path. Don't come too near though; it is programmed to pick up a foreign body and drop it in a pre-determined location. Can be killed with a standard jump.
Model Credit
Drone Crawler
A patrolling drone that will attach itself to a host (you) and scramble your controls. Jump and press buttons to shake it off. Recommend killing it with a projectile!
Model Credit
Necromancer
A ghoul who appears suddenly in a cloud of black smoke. He cannot attack you directly, so instead he summons skeletons under your feet. He will chase you down until either you or he is killed.
Model Credit
Whaledon
A bipedal creature who runs its prey down. As it closes in, the Whaledon leaps on top of its prey to deliver a killing blow. They're a little tougher than most enemies.

Powerups help the Dude navigate each level. Collect jewels, time, health, or mutations (the heads shown above) from P blocks, or sometimes you might find things just laying around somewhere.

Jewel
Collect 20 Jewels and you can purchase extra health or time. Collect 99 and you can activate a special power unique to each mutation, which times out after 30 or 60 seconds.
You will find single jewels, large jewels worth 5x, and at least one crown jewel per level worth 20 jewels!

Clock
If the timer runs out, your goose is cooked. Collect this powerup to add 45 seconds to the clock!
Can be bought with 20 jewels using the special switch option.
Model Credit
Health
Whenever you find a mutation, it comes with full health. This powerup restores your health without changing your identity.
One health at a time can be bought with 20 jewels using the special switch option.

Throughout the game you will encounter different biomes, which are the settings for the various levels. They are arranged in a random order, sometimes with the same biome back-to-back.

Woods
In the woods area you will traverse aqueducts and climb tall trees, but watch out for rushing rivers. Look closely; not everything here is as it appears.

Volcanic
Every game has a volcanic level! Stay out of the magma or any open flames, and make use of the geothermal steam mining operation to get around.
Cavern
Explore a dark cavern with ruins of an ancient civilization. What's with that green slime- did I just recycle the river effects in bright green? Better not test the "water."
Mountain
Climb up as high as you can, then climb even higher. If you get high enough, the water can freeze and make things slippery. Watch out for unstable rocks that might crumble beneath you.
Desert
Why go into the desert? To explore pyramids, of course. Statues, traps, Egyptian-themed stereotypes of all kinds. Basically things you might have seen in a movie like Indiana Jones.
Temple
Deep in the jungles of wherever, you'll find the ruins of a civilization vaguely Mesoamerican, or South Asian perhaps. Rushing rivers, temple ruins; actually if it sounds familiar it's because this is kind of a mix of the woods and pyarmid areas.

Alien
In an alien world you'll find structures so strangely familiar, they just might be reminiscent of your own biology. Don't fall into the whatever-it-is that's moving, and watch out for the red goop; it's alive.
Beach
What could be more relaxing than the beach? It turns out a lot of places, because this beach is an archeological site containing crates inexplicably booby-trapped with drills, as well as bipedal whale-like creatures and who knows what else?
Nebula
Outer space is the final frontier, but in this game it's just another biome to explore. Floating space stations are encased in deceptive glass walls. Find controls to gain entry or shut off energy fields which either block the way or cause contact damage.
Sky
Get your head out of reality and back into the clouds! Up here you'll find your standard "castle in the sky" paradigm, only with everything fragmented and randomized. What a mess!
Grid
The Grid isn't so much a separate biome, as it is the absence of any biome. Once you reach the flag at the end of a level, the facade disappears and you're left with a standard grid; the backdrop on which the holographic biomes are projected.
